Proposed amendments to the CPP Band Boosters By-Laws, version October 1, 2020
Current wording to be changed or omitted is in red type.
Proposed wording changes and additions are in blue type.
1. Section 2.1
a. Current wording: To support and encourage all facets and all members of the CPP High School Band program.
b. Proposed wording: To support and encourage all facets and all members of the CPP High School Band program, including but not limited to the following performing groups: Color Guard, Dance Machine, Majorettes, Performance Band, Competition Band, Symphonic Band, Pep Band, Winter Guard, Indoor Drumline, Jazz Hawks, Concert Band, CPP Hawks Marching Band, Chamber Ensembles, and Pit Orchestra.
2. Section 2.2
a. Current wording: To work cooperatively with the Band Directors, CPP High School Administration, CPP Area School District Administration and the CPP Area Board of Education to promote and facilitate programs and activities which advance the goal of providing the highest standard of music education for our students.
b. Proposed wording: To work cooperatively with the Band Directors, CPP High School Administration, CPP Area School District Administration and the CPP Area Board of Education to promote and facilitate programs and activities which advance the goal of providing the highest standard of performing arts education offered through the CPP High School band program.
3. Section 3.1(B)
a. Current wording: Associate Members - can be, but are not limited to, alumni CPP band students, Booster Club alumni and other family members (over age 18) of current students. Associate Members may serve on committees but may not vote or be elected to hold office.
b. Proposed wording: Associate Members - can be, but are not limited to, CPP band student alumni, Booster Club (Regular Member) alumni, and other family members (over age 18) of current students. Associate Members may serve on committees but may not vote or be elected to hold office.
4. Section 5.2(D)
a. Current wording: The Assistant Treasurer shall be the liaison between fundraising and maintain all individual student accounts.
b. Current wording: The Assistant Treasurer shall maintain all individual student credit accounts from fundraising.
5. Section 7.6
a. New section: Any performing group that is fundraising and requesting Booster Club inventory items and/or funds is required to reimburse the Booster Club for those inventory items and/or funds for no net loss to the Booster Club. Any funds raised should be put back fully into the Booster Club budget, to be divided amongst the performing groups, on the designated budget line as budgeted each year.
